My cooking journey

I started cooking at a very young age. A girl in the village of Bushbuckridge in the Mpumalanga province. I grew up in a family of both parents and four siblings, three brothers and one sister.

Being a girl, I was always tasked with household chores that were meant for "girls" like cleaning and washing dishes. This other late afternoon some time in 2005, at the age of 12.

 My mom was not home, and it was getting late. Seeing that there was no food, and, in my head, I had seen mom do it. And I thought I can do it too!!!I went and started 🔥 and put on a pot to cook pap.

 Did I not make a flop of pap and had to discard everything and start afresh!!! 🤔 My second attempt was successful with some lumps in the pap there and there 🤣🤣.

 But at least we had food to eat that day 😋 Little did I know that I had just ignited the fire and passion for cooking and food preparations.

 From that day to date, any function we have I am the cook known as @Matthecook!!!
